York Street Early Education aims to provide a friendly environment where children feel safe and secure. Along with this, parents and other family members feel supported in the knowledge that their children are respected and given every opportunity to develop to their full potential. We aim to do this by providing a high quality program based on observations of individual needs, group needs and developmental stages. We aim to provide an environment that reflects multicultural and non-sexist attitudes, as well as operate in accordance with the Queensland Child Care Regulations 2003.

If food is provided
We use a company called Kids Gourmet Food that provides morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the children. The six week menu rotation allows children to be exposed to a broad range of flavours, textures and ingredients while ensuring they are receiving the recommended nutritional intake every day. Menus are designed to exceed the national dietary guidelines for children while in care. These are in accordance with Australian Dietary Guidelines, Infant Feeding Guidelines and Get up and Grow, Healthy Eating and Physical Activities for children, while also referencing the Healthy Eating Pyramid.
