Observe How Individual Children Approach & Interact

Educators observe how individual children approach and interact with peers, they then develop strategies to assist children to form healthy attachments, relationships and friendships. This may be done by communicating verbally or using nonverbal gestures such as body movements, facial expressions and vocal sounds to make contact. Educators encourage children to show signs of kindness and empathy as they begin to respond to the feelings and needs of others. Learning to use the toilets is an important milestone for both educators and children. This is the period when children become more aware of their own hygiene and the process of parents beginning to see how much their child has grown and developed.
